Wow, it has been a while.
Hard to believe I started this blog in 2012, at the same time as my skating journey began. Looking back at posts, I see that I stopped posting when full time work first became a thing for me, and a lot has happened since then.
A pandemic, for one.
Lots of skating, and lots of progress.
Looking back at what I was working on when I stopped posting, is a reminder of how far I've come. At the moment I'm getting to grips with my loop and flip jumps, and my sit and camel spins. Back when I stopped posting, I wasn't even jumping. I was about to do my first competition with Inclusive Skating. I'm now competing, not only in Inclusive Skating events, but in British Ice Skating mainstream events.
I completed my Skate UK passport.
I competed with Inclusive Skating in Finland.
I'm doing some work with British Ice Skating to make the mainstream side of the sport more accessible to those with disabilities.
So much has changed, but my passion for skating is still burning strong. I'm not going to commit to a posting schedule, I work full time and study with the Open University, so I've got a lot on alongside skating.
But I'm hoping to get back to some kind of regular posting, and will be looking to expand the blog and see where it takes me.
So let's get started, shall we?
